This calm, green bay offers a warm welcome in a beautiful area. Along the way, you'll sail past Skorpios, the island once owned by the Onassis family. In the evening, tables are set for a wonderful meal at a small local taverna.
Saturday: arrival in Lefkas
Welcome to Lefkas! From the airport, travel by bus or taxi to Preveza Marina or D-Marin on Lefkas, where you can check in from around 5pm. If you arrive a little earlier, settle in at one of the terraces in the villages near the harbour and unwind after your journey. Prefer a refreshing swim instead? Both harbours have a pool. Either way, Lefkas offers a relaxed start to your sailing holiday.
Sunday: Lefkas to Meganisi
This calm, green bay in a beautiful area offers a warm welcome, and it's a good spot to anchor. Along the way, you'll sail past Skorpios, the island once owned by the Onassis family. In the evening, tables are set for a wonderful meal at a small local taverna. Rowing back to the yacht in the dark, take a moment to look up at the beautiful night sky.
Monday: Fiskardo, Kefalonia
After a beautiful night under the stars and a refreshing morning swim, set course for Fiskardo. Its colourful houses survived the 1953 earthquake. Once you've moored up, all that's left to do is step off the gangway onto the terrace. Now that's a holiday.
Tuesday: Effimia, Kefalonia
This village has plenty of places to eat, a good supermarket, and a butcher. Effimia is a great pick for anyone who appreciates the finer side of Greek cuisine, and its many shops stay open into the evening. It's also worth knowing that the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin was filmed here.
Wednesday: Kalamos, Kalamos
After the pleasant buzz of the previous day, the quiet surroundings of Kalamos will suit you well. This peaceful, elevated village has a good quay for anchoring off your own hook. Getting fresh bread in the morning means a fairly steep walk up to the village, so take your time, after all, it's a holiday.
Thursday: Atheni Bay, Meganisi
This bay lies on the northeast side of the much-loved island of Meganisi. After today's wonderful sail, a drink on the terrace will go down well. Let yourself be surprised at the restaurant run by Dimitri and Spiros, where guests are always welcomed in playful style. Once the two of them are done cooking and serving, they'll treat you to some Greek dancing, a unique chance to pick up the steps that you won't want to miss.
Friday: Lefkas Marina
After an eventful evening, there's no bigger letdown than realising it's the last day of sailing on this tour. Might as well book again for next year. For now, it's time to say goodbye to this beautiful sailing area as you sail back together to the home port in Lefkas or Preveza, where you're welcome to stay aboard until Saturday morning.
