Day 1: Saturday, arrival in Bodrum
On day one, you'll arrive in the beautiful resort town of Bodrum, an ideal starting harbour for a sailing holiday along the Turkish coast. The town sits on Turkey's southwestern Bodrum peninsula, easily reached from the airport. Spend the morning in this beautiful coastal town and pick up supplies for the week ahead. Once ready, board your own sailing yacht and complete check-in together with the flotilla leader or charter company.
Day 2: Sunday, Bodrum to Gümüşlük, 15 nautical miles
Gümüşlük is the perfect destination for total relaxation. It's a small, unique village on the Bodrum peninsula, about 30 minutes from the town centre, built on the ruins of the ancient city of Myndos. It's a relaxed spot, away from the crowds, restaurants and bars here aren't even allowed to play loud music.
Day 3: Monday, Gümüşlük to Asın Limanı, 23 nautical miles
Asın Limanı, also known as Lassos, is an old harbour famous for its ruins dating back to the Byzantine period. You can easily moor at the town quay, or anchor further into the bay and take a line ashore. Visit the ruins of ancient Lassos: the agora, the temple and the recently restored mausoleum are all worth seeing, and there are traditional restaurants and plenty of small shops and market stalls to restock supplies on board.
Day 4: Tuesday, Asın Limanı to Kazıklı, 17 nautical miles
Today brings a beautiful sail to Kazıklı, a bay known for its stunning sunsets and peaceful atmosphere. Spend the night at anchor or on a buoy. The bay is surrounded by pine-covered mountains, with two restaurants and several jetties to relax on, and clear blue water for swimming. During peak season, one of the floating restaurants is towed out from the coast, so you can dine in the bay straight from your own dinghy.
Day 5: Wednesday, Kazıklı to Turgutreis, 23 nautical miles
The sail from Kazıklı to the bay of Turgutreis is a beautiful, challenging day on the water. Turgutreis is the largest bay on the Bodrum peninsula and has only more recently been discovered by tourists, making it easy to see why it's such a popular stop on a Turkish sailing holiday. The bay has endless beaches, a lively strip of bars, an excellent marina and a huge open-air market.
Day 6: Thursday, Turgutreis to Aspat, 8 nautical miles
Aspat Bay is sheltered from northwesterly winds, making it an ideal spot to anchor and spend the day. The bay was once used as a base by pirates. Relax and take a refreshing dip off the stern, and take time to walk around Aspat (Çiflik) Castle, standing in full grandeur on top of the hill.
Day 7: Friday, Aspat to Bodrum, 7 nautical miles
Today you'll sail from Aspat back to Bodrum for one last night with the crew. The modern marina, with excellent facilities, is considered one of the best in the Mediterranean, and this lively coastal town has long attracted some of Turkey's greatest artists, intellectuals and romantics, guaranteeing an unforgettable final evening.
